In a warm, caring environment, children are stimulated, challenged and actively encouraged to explore new ideas, experiences and knowledge are planned for with the intention of children developing skills and knowledge that are beneficial now, in the next stage of their education and beyond.

The program encompasses the five development outcomes and eight Practice Principles which are identified in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).  The program provides for learning across all areas including art, early science and maths concepts, pre-literacy skills, music and movement, language, health, environmental education, creative play experiences and much more.

Children are encouraged and supported to develop social and communication skills such as listening and negotiating. We aim for children to develop independence, respect (for themselves and each other), creativity, curiosity and confidence.  Each child is supported to participate in the program and to develop a love of learning. Each child’s learning and development is assessed as part of an on-going cycle of planning assessment and review. The planned program incorporates each child’s culture, abilities and interests.

Parents are welcome to observe and any questions can be discussed with teachers or the Committee of Management (COM).

General Information

The State Government provides some funding towards the costs of operation with fees covering the remainder. Parents are required to help with rostered duties and are encouraged to become involved on the Committee of Management.

Special Events

Different incursions and excursions are planned during each year, taking into account the group’s particular interests and skills. Parents are charged an incursion fee on top of fees to save money being collected during session time. Parental consent must be given before any child is taken on an excursion outside the Kindergarten.
